Former club president at the University of Iowa — three semesters of organizing competitions, teaching fundamentals, and keeping the mats safe.
Kian served as president of the University of Iowa's Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu club for three semesters, where he organized competitions, taught during basics classes, and was responsible for making sure the club ran safely. Leading a club built around live, physical practice carries a lot of the same underlying skills as running an engineering team — planning around risk, teaching technique clearly, and staying calm when something goes wrong.
More on his BJJ background is coming soon.
